Keenan & McKayla’s Storm King Mountain Ranch Wedding – A Day of Love, Kindness, & Rainbows

Some wedding days go exactly as planned. Others take you on a journey, reminding you to trust, breathe, and flow with the unexpected—and that’s where the magic happens.

Keenan and McKayla’s June wedding at Storm King Mountain Ranch in Montrose, Colorado, was one of those memorable days. The first thing I noticed is everyone helping everyone. The groomsmen and ushers were helping set up the ceremony and the family members were assembling the flowers.

From the very start, the energy of the day was calm, joyful, and full of love. Their wedding planner, Brette Huff from Wild Poppy Events, kept everything flowing smoothly with a warm presence. She’s the kind of person who is always one step ahead, anticipating needs before anyone even realizes they have them. Her mom, Jackie, was also there helping, bringing even more kindness and support to the day.

Just before the ceremony, an afternoon thunderstorm rolled in, the kind that makes you wonder if it’s time for the backup plan. But instead of stressing, Keenan and McKayla chose to trust and decided to wait it out, believing the skies would clear. And they did!

The rain stopped just in time, and we all grabbed towels and started drying off seats. It was one of those unexpected but beautiful moments—that when people come together, things have a way of working out.

When we were about to take sunset photos of the Bride and Groom, the most beautiful rainbow appeared. It was the kind of moment you hope for on your wedding day.

Keenan and McKayla’s wedding was a perfect reminder that love isn’t about perfection—it’s about trusting, embracing the unexpected, and knowing that, in the end, everything comes together just as it’s meant to.

Here are some of the beautiful moments from their day!
