A Horseshoe Bend Proposal | Anirudh + Girija | Page, Arizona Photographer

Day 2 – Anirudh had planned to propose at the Grand Canyon the evening before. The weather had other plans- it rained — all afternoon into early evening until the light was gone. We realized it would have to be during one of the other shoots we had planned over the next 2 days. It was time to pivot.

The next day, we met in a parking lot for the next adventure. A local tour company took us through the slot canyons first — more on those in a future post, because they deserve every word — and then out to Horseshoe Bend as the afternoon softened into evening.

While the tour group gathered at the overlook, Anirudh walked Girija away from the crowd. Just the two of them, at the edge of that sweeping 270-degree bend of the Colorado River. He got down on one knee. He asked. She said yes.
The sunset that evening was soft and cool — unusual for June in Arizona, and absolutely perfect. We spent the rest of the golden hour taking photographs and enjoying the stunning views. Sometimes the universe redirects you right where you were always meant to be.
